2026-27 Class Application and Tuition Information

2026-27 School Year Dates
- Sept. 14, 2026 – May 21, 2027: 2026-27 School Year (32 weeks)
- Nov. 25, 2026 – Nov. 27, 2026: Closed Thanksgiving Holiday
- Dec. 14, 2026 – Jan. 1, 2027: Closed Winter Break
- Jan. 18, 2027: Closed MLK Day
- Feb. 15, 2027: Closed Presidents’ Day
- March 29, 2027 – April 2, 2027: Closed Spring Break
How to Apply
Complete an online application form and pay (by mail, in person or online) a $65 non-refundable registration fee (per family). Application fees must be paid in order for your application to be processed. If paying the application fee with a check, make it payable to “FUUC-SYC.” Send it to: School for Young Children, 93 W. Weisheimer Rd., Columbus, OH 43214.
Application Procedures
Selection: List your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class choices. Applications are first-come, first-served.
Scholarships: Need-based scholarship applications are available online and considered as long as funds remain available. The SYC Committee reviews all applications, and recipients will be notified by email. Families receiving assistance are asked to contribute 10 hours of service to the school during the academic year
2026-2027 School Year Tuition Amounts
The application process at the School for Young Children is annual. To maintain low tuition and meet budget obligations, we require a commitment to pay the full year’s tuition upon payment of your deposit, even in the event of withdrawal. Written withdrawal requests must be submitted to the SYC Committee for review in advance; please see the 2026-27 Withdrawal/Refund Policy on our Documents & Forms page.
To secure your child’s placement, a deposit is due by April 14, 2026 (or within 21 days of acceptance if after March 21). This amount will be applied toward your total tuition. You will receive a tuition contract to approve upon acceptance.
Sibling Discount: Families with multiple children enrolled concurrently receive a 5% discount on the lower tuition amount(s).
